The Special Events Assistant will assist the Special Events Coordinator sell, coordinate, plan and execute banquets, catering and outing packages for the Club.

Principal Duties: 

*Solicits orders with client and members by phone.

*Maintains appropriate client and member files and contracts.

*Prepares contracts, communicates club policies and thoroughly explains the provisions of the contract to prospective clients and/or members.

*Assists the Special Events Coordinator in coordinating activities with the Food and Beverage Director, the Executive Chef and/or the Head Golf Professional.

*Prepares requisitions with outside vendors for special requirements.

*Assist client or member in selecting menu items, decorations and other special theme offerings. *Answers questions from and provides information to clients and members.

*Directs or escorts clients or members to the Club dining and recreation areas.

*Perform any other tasks requested by the management or the Club.

*Perform other administrative assistance required by the Special Events Coordinator.

Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: 

*Good organizational skills and good verbal communication skills.

*Bilingual is a plus, but not required.

*Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

*Ability to write simple correspondence.

*Ability to use Microsoft Office programs efficiently. (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher)

*Ability to effectively present information in the one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

*Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

*Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Required Work Habits: 

*Work habits include regular attendance, team work, initiative, dependability, positive attitude and promptness.

Educational, Development and Work-Related Experience: 

*One year certificate from college, technical school or high school graduate, three to six months in related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Full-Time/Hourly - $10 - $12 - Commensurate with Experience
